Big West's Projected Top 10 Players for 2026-27

The Big West has an unusually deep group of proven scorers and experienced guards entering 2026-27.

This is MMH's editorial projection of the league's top 10 players, based on prior production, projected role, roster context and expected impact this season.

The projected top 10

1. Hamad Mousa, Cal Poly — wing

Mousa averaged 20.4 points and 6.3 rebounds and enters the season as MMH's preseason Big West Player of the Year.

2. Josiah Davis, CSUN — guard

Davis averaged 15.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists and gives CSUN one of the league's best floor-raisers.

3. Larry Hughes II, Sacramento State — guard/wing

Hughes averaged 17.7 points at CSUN and shot 39 percent from three. He now joins one of the league's most intriguing backcourts.

4. Leo Beath, UC San Diego — forward

Beath averaged 12.2 points and 5.1 rebounds and is the safest frontcourt player on a title contender.

5. Miro Little, UC Santa Barbara — guard

Little averaged 11.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists and gives UCSB size, vision and experience at the point.

6. Cayden Ward, Cal Poly — forward

Ward averaged 14.5 points and 6.3 rebounds and gives Cal Poly another high-level scoring option next to Mousa.

7. Mikey Williams, Sacramento State — guard

Williams averaged 17.1 points and 4.5 assists and remains one of the highest-upside creators in the conference.

8. Rahmir Barno, UC San Diego — guard

Barno averaged 11.7 points and 5.0 assists at Florida Gulf Coast and now steps into one of the league's best offensive systems.

9. CJ Shaw, UC Santa Barbara — guard

Shaw averaged 12.2 points as a freshman and shot 43.2 percent from three. He is MMH's Big West breakout pick.

10. Isaac Davis, Utah Valley — forward

Davis averaged 10.9 points while shooting 62.3 percent from the floor and anchors a team built to contend immediately.

Next in line

Tom Beattie of UC San Diego, Nils Cooper of UC Irvine, Terry Coner Jr. of California Baptist, Matthew Willenborg of Cal State Fullerton and Isaac Hawkins of Utah Valley all have realistic paths into the top 10.
