Sun Belt's Projected Top 10 Players for 2026–27

The Sun Belt list mixes returning production with transfers who have already carried major roles elsewhere. Several talented players have recent injury or playing-time gaps, so this order puts some weight on how certain their 2026–27 roles appear. 1. Isaac Taveras, Southern Miss — guard
Taveras is the clearest returning centerpiece in the league. His 15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game give Southern Miss a proven source of offense while its other pieces settle into place. Southern Miss player bio · 2025–26 statistics
2. Noah Otshudi, Marshall — guard
Otshudi started all 31 games and averaged 14.5 points with 110 total assists last season. His ability to organize possessions while producing his own points makes him one of the safest choices near the top. Marshall player bio
3. Jacoi Hutchinson, Troy — guard
Hutchinson averaged 12.3 points, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals at Longwood. Troy has a new coach and a changed roster; an experienced guard who can score, distribute and get to the line could be central to its transition. Troy signing release
4. Adrian Myers, James Madison — wing
Myers brings size and a reliable shooting record after averaging 11.1 points and 4.9 rebounds while making 37.2 percent of his threes at San José State. JMU's ceiling rises if he supplies that combination without needing the offense built entirely around him. JMU signing release
5. Jacob Meyer, Georgia State — guard
Meyer averaged 12.4 points at UAB last season and previously scored 15.7 per game as a freshman at Coastal Carolina. He has already produced in the Sun Belt, although Georgia State must work out how its new guards divide possessions. Georgia State player bio
6. Layne Taylor, Arkansas State — guard
Taylor's 8.0 points per game at Murray State understate his potential influence: he had 101 assists against 30 turnovers and previously averaged 17.4 points at Central Arkansas. 7. Adante' Holiman, Old Dominion — guard
Holiman averaged 16.9 points and made 81 threes at Georgia Southern in 2024–25. He did not appear for Arizona State in 2025–26, making this one of the list's widest ranges of possible outcomes. If he regains his prior form, seventh will be too low. ODU signing release · Old Dominion sleeper preview
8. Peyton Law, South Alabama — forward

9. Jaden Jackson, Georgia State — guard
Jackson started all 32 games at South Dakota State and averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists. That broad contribution earns him a place even though sharing the backcourt with Meyer creates a new fit question. Georgia State player bio
10. Cavan Reilly, James Madison — guard
Reilly averaged 12.4 points and shot 35.6 percent from three for Delaware in 2024–25, then appeared in only one game last season because of injury. His shooting and experience could move him well above tenth if he returns to form. JMU signing release
The call
Taveras and Otshudi have the most dependable recent Sun Belt production. Holiman, Law and Reilly offer major upside with meaningful availability questions. Taylor's value may show up in Arkansas State's offense more clearly than in his own points per game.
